Ice Cream Shop — Sandstone Hybrid Flake Floor (400 Sq Ft)
400 sq. ft. commercial ice cream shop back-of-house finished with our Sandstone Hybrid Flake System and an integrated sanitary cove base — a seamless, food-safe, easy-to-sanitize floor built for daily wash-downs.
The Challenge
The back-of-house of this Naples ice cream shop had a failing tile floor with broken grout lines, standing moisture, and open seams — a constant sanitation problem for a food-service space. They needed a seamless, waterproof, health-code-friendly floor with a coved base at the walls to eliminate the dirt-trapping 90° corner, all installed with minimal downtime so the shop could reopen fast.
Our Solution
- 1Full demolition and removal of the old tile, then mechanical diamond grinding of the slab
- 2Concrete repair of cracks, divots, and the damaged substrate before coating
- 3Integrated sanitary cove base formed at the wall-to-floor transition for a seamless, easy-to-clean junction
- 4100% solids epoxy base coat with the Sandstone hybrid flake broadcast to full rejection
- 5Chemical-resistant polyaspartic topcoat — non-slip, waterproof, and built for food-service wash-downs
The Results
- A seamless, waterproof floor with no grout lines or seams to trap bacteria
- Integrated cove base that meets food-service sanitation expectations and simplifies cleaning
- Slip-resistant, chemical-resistant surface that stands up to daily wash-downs and heavy foot traffic
- Clean, bright Sandstone finish that brightens the back-of-house and reopened the shop fast
