What We Remove
If it's stuck to your slab, we can grind it off — without chemicals or acid etching.
Failed / peeling epoxy
DIY kits and cheap installs that delaminated — removed with PCD tooling down to bare concrete.
Garage floor paint
Latex and oil paints that never bonded properly, stripped in a single visit for most garages.
Glue, mastic & carpet adhesive
Black mastic and yellow glue ground clean — the most common prep before polish or coating.
Thinset & tile mortar beds
After tile demo, we grind ridges flat and level the slab for the next floor.
Old sealers & curing compounds
Invisible bond-breakers on new construction slabs — the #1 cause of coating failure.
Overlays & self-levelers
Failed toppings removed and the slab re-profiled to a sound substrate.
Preparation Is 80% of a Floor That Lasts
Every coating failure we're called to fix traces back to skipped prep. Our removal and preparation protocol is the same one behind our lifetime residential warranty.
Correct CSP Profile
Ground to the ICRI profile your next system specifies — CSP-2/3 for coatings, finer for polishing.
Moisture Testing
Calcium chloride testing on every slab — Florida moisture vapor is managed before it becomes a failure.
HEPA Dust Control
Grinders paired with HEPA extractors — safe for occupied homes, retail, and food-service spaces.
Typical investment: $3-5 per sq ft for removal, depending on coating thickness and hardness. Bundled removal + new floor quotes available.
Coating Removal & Surface Prep FAQs
How do you remove old epoxy from concrete?
Diamond grinding with PCD (polycrystalline diamond) tooling — the professional method that strips failed epoxy, paint, or sealers down to clean concrete without chemicals. For thick or elastomeric coatings we adjust tooling and passes until the slab is bare and sound.
How much does epoxy removal cost in Naples?
Coating removal typically runs $3-5 per sq ft depending on coating thickness, hardness, and square footage. Removal is often quoted together with the new floor system so you see one total investment.
Can you remove glue, thinset, or carpet adhesive?
Yes. Glue and thinset removal is one of our most common prep jobs — PCD grinding removes mastic and mortar beds, then finer diamonds leave the right profile (CSP) for the new coating or polish.
What is a CSP profile and why does it matter?
CSP (Concrete Surface Profile) is the industry roughness standard from ICRI. Every coating specifies a profile — typically CSP-2/3 for epoxy. Grinding to the correct CSP is the difference between a floor that lasts decades and one that peels in a year.
Is the grinding process dusty?
Our grinders run with HEPA-filtered dust extraction, so removal is a low-dust process safe for occupied homes and businesses. No acid etching, no chemical strippers, no mess.
Do you offer prep-only service for other contractors?
Yes. General contractors and flooring installers hire us for grinding, removal, moisture testing, and profile prep even when another trade installs the finish floor. Ask about contractor scheduling.
