The curing-compound trap on new slabs
Production builders spray curing compound on fresh slabs — a membrane that slows moisture loss so the concrete cures properly. It does its job, then stays there as an invisible bond-breaker. Any coating applied over it sticks to the compound, not the concrete, and peels in sheets — usually starting where hot tires sit.
The fix is not chemistry, it is mechanics: diamond grinding removes the compound and opens the concrete pores (a CSP-1/2 profile) so a 100% solids epoxy can anchor into the slab itself. Young concrete and moisture
